Tarrytown officials didn’t have to go too far to find Blau’s replacement, opting to bring in Mamaroneck village Administrator Richard Slingerland to fill the position, according to lohud.com, which reported that Blau had served the role in Tarrytown for more than 17 years.
Slingerland, who is returning to the same Tarrytown position he held from 1999-2002, is to rejoin the village on April 3, according to lohud.com, which reported that his annual salary will be around $202,000.
As administrator in Tarrytown, Slingerland will oversee all village departments, including 94 full-time employees, according to lohud.com., which reported that his previous experience includes work in Yonkers, Rye Brook, Pelham and the Westchester County Executive’s Office.
Mamaroneck officials said they will begin interviewing candidates to fill Slingerland’s position as soon as possible, according to lohud.com.
